CCSO to Conduct Sobriety Checkpoint

Members of the Charles County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Operations Unit, using funding from the Maryland Highway Safety Office, will conduct impaired and aggressive driver patrols and an impaired driver checkpoint during the St. Patrick’s Day holiday weekend.

The Impaired Driver checkpoint will commence on Thursday, March 16, 2017, at approximately 8:30 p.m. and will conclude at 12 a.m.

CCSO Investigating Single Vehicle Fatal Car Crash on Blossom Point Road

 

On March 10, at 2:14 p.m., officers responded to the 8200 block of Blossom Point Road in Welcome for the report of a single vehicle crash. A preliminary investigation revealed the driver of a Mazda pick-up truck was traveling north when he left the roadway and struck a tree. Teen Court Sponsoring Sports Clinic for Teen Boys

Teen Court will be sponsoring a “Getting Ready For Sports” clinic in March. On March 3 at approximately 12:34 p.m., officers responded to the area of Smallwood Drive at St. Nicholas Drive in Waldorf for the report of a single vehicle crash. A preliminary investigation revealed that a passenger car was travelling east on Smallwood Drive West when the driver lost control of the vehicle and struck a traffic light pole. Colin C.
