POSSESSION WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE MARIJUANA/POSSESSION OF HANDGUN: On February 10 at 7:50 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop in a parking lot in the 3300 block of Western Parkway after observing the vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign. After making contact with the driver, the officer smelled the odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. Further investigation revealed containers of marijuana, a digital scale, and a loaded 9mm handgun. Dementrous Von Smith, 19 of Waldorf, and Brian Anthony Williams, Jr., 18 of Waldorf, were arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession of a handgun. Officer J. Wilson investigated.
FIRST-DEGREE ASSAULT/SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY: On February 10 at 2:10 p.m., officers responded to the 3400 block of Promenade Place in Waldorf for the report of an assault. Upon arrival, officers interviewed the victim who stated that an unknown subject approached his vehicle on foot as he was entering a parking garage. When the victim rolled his window down, the suspect pointed a black handgun at him. The victim thought he was being robbed, at which time he told the suspect he did not have anything; the suspect then walked away. The suspect was described as a white male in his 20’s with short blond hair wearing tan pants, tan boots, and a black fleece jacket. There have been no similar incidents reported. Pfc. E.
