Charles County Sheriff’s detectives are seeking the identity of a man who assaulted a convenience store clerk. Charles County Crime Solvers is offering a cash reward in this case. On January 17 at 11:15 p.m., the suspect entered a store in the 300 block of Smallwood Drive in Waldorf. He picked up a bag of Funyons and a fruit flavored Gatorade and approached the clerk. When the clerk rang up the merchandise, the suspect reached across the counter and slapped the clerk several times. The suspect then grabbed the items and ran from the store.
Photos of the suspect were retrieved from a store surveillance camera and police are asking anyone with information to call Det. A. Celia at (301) 609-6518.
