On May 17 at approximately 2:30 p.m., a school administrator at Piccowaxen Middle School notified the school resource officer that they found a student in possession of a vape pen with a cartridge containing a yellow substance. The SRO launched an investigation and tested the substance in the cartridge, which tested positive for cannabis.
The school resource officer is following up with the Charles County Department of Juvenile Services to provide services as needed. The student will face disciplinary consequences from the Charles County Public Schools. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call Cpl. Caballero at 301-609-3282 ext. 0573. The investigation is ongoing.
