ASSAULT: On Aug. 5 about 7 p.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to a residence on Little Creek Lane in La Plata for the reported assault involving a weapon. Their investigation revealed Elizabeth Rachael Hall, 19, of La Plata, brandished a knife, confronted two women at the front door and made threatening movements with the knife in their direction. Officers arrested Hall and charged her with two counts each of reckless endangerment and first- and second-degree assault. She was being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before a district court commissioner. The incident was the result of an ongoing dispute between Hall and one of the victims. Officer W. Halt investigated.

RECKLESS ENDANGERMENT: On Aug. 4 about 7:30 p.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to a residence in the 4700 block of Londonberry Lane in White Plains for the reported property destruction. The investigation revealed suspect(s) shot the projectile through the front door, causing damage to the door and an interior wall. The projectile came to rest on the floor. The victim was at home when the incident occurred and discovered the damage and the projectile after investigating a loud noise. No one was injured. Officers collected evidence and conducted a neighborhood canvass. Crime Solvers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest or indictment. Officer M. Hancock is investigating.

BURGLARY: On Aug. 4 at 10:06 a.m., Officer A. Duckett was patrolling the Bannister neighborhood in Waldorf when she discovered what appeared to be new damage to a window at a residence in the 3200 block of Manning Court. Upon further investigation, Officer Duckett and Officer C. Collins discovered an open door, entered the residence and found a man hiding in an upstairs bedroom. After determining the man did not have permission to be in the residence, the officers arrested him and charged him with property destruction and third- and fourth-degree burglary. The man, who was identified as Raheem Eli Freeman, 20, of no fixed address, was being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before a district court commissioner.

ATTEMPTED MURDER: On Aug. 3 at 1:15 a.m., a fight erupted between a security guard and a group of patrons at Club Icon located at 2106 Crain Highway in Waldorf. During the fight, one of the individuals stabbed the security guard multiple times. Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded and through their investigation, they identified James Adam Doby, 21, of Washington, D.C. as the assailant. The officers located Doby, who was still on the scene, and arrested him. Doby was charged with attempted first-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault, wearing and carrying a dangerous weapon with the intent to injure, and concealing a dangerous weapon. Two of Doby’s associates became disorderly during the investigation and were subsequently arrested. They were identified as Kelvin Jermaine Hoffman, 22, and Marquis Dorinzo Johnson, 29, of Washington, D.C. Doby, Hoffman and Johnson were being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending appearances before a district court commissioner. The victim was flown to Prince George’s Hospital Center, where his injuries were said to be not life threatening. Det. G. Higgs investigated.

PROPERTY DESTRUCTION/THEFT: Sometime between 9 and 10:30 a.m. Aug. 2, suspect(s) shattered the windows of four vehicles parked on Theodore Green Boulevard at the Indian Head Rail Trail in White Plains and stole purses, wallets and cell phones. The suspect(s) later used one of the victim’s credit cards at gas stations in Waldorf. The Charles County Sheriff’s Office was called to the scene and is investigating the thefts.
