STRONG-ARM ROBBERY/CRIME SOLVERS OFFERING CASH REWARD: On Nov. 28 at 2:09 a.m., a woman was walking down the stairs of her apartment building located at 3525 Stone Commons Place in Waldorf when a male walked past her and then suddenly turned and placed an object against her back and threatened her with harm. The suspect stole the woman’s ring, watch, purse, and necklace and then fled. The victim described the suspect as a male, unknown race, with a lot of facial hair. At the time of the robbery, the suspect was wearing a dark hooded sweat shirt and dark pants. Anyone with information is asked to call Officer C. Curtis at (301) 932-2222. THEFT FROM MOTOR VEHICLE: On Nov. 30 during the overnight hours, unknown suspect (s) broke a window to a car in the 4800 block of Champlain Court in Waldorf and stole an after-market stereo from the console. Officer C. Gustafson is investigating.
BURGLARY: Sometime between Nov. 25 – Nov. 29, unknown suspect(s) broke into a house in the 1000 block of Kenneth Court in Indian Head and stole two televisions. PFC M. Wagner is investigating.
IMPAIRED DRIVER CHECKPOINT RESULTS: On Nov. 25, members of the CCSO Traffic Operations Unit, assisted by the Community Policing Unit and the Maryland Natural Resources Police, conducted an impaired driver checkpoint on Berry Road. Officers assigned to Patrol Operations and other components of the CCSO participated in the checkpoint through funding provided by the Maryland Highway Safety Office. As a result of the checkpoint, 12 drivers were charged with driving on a suspended or revoked license; two drivers were arrested on outstanding arrest warrants; four drivers were charged with drug-related offenses; and one driver was charged with identity theft. During the checkpoint, 1,169 drivers were contacted and provided with literature relating to the dangers and risks of impaired driving.
PATROL OFFICERS LOCATE BURGLARY SUSPECTS: On Nov. 25 at 3:47 p.m., officers responded to the 3600 block of Matlock Place in Waldorf for the report of a burglary in progress. Upon arrival, Officer J. Bottorf observed three suspects fleeing the residence. He gave several commands to stop, but the suspects fled. K9 Officer D. Behm and his partner tracked the suspects to the Huntington Recreational Center where the suspects were apprehended and positively identified. The victim said she observed the suspects in her fenced-in backyard attempting to gain entrance into her house by opening the window and kicking the back door. The suspects, who were juveniles, were charged with attempted burglary and released to their parents.
