On Nov. 3 at 2 p.m., a 6-year-old boy was playing with friends near a lake on Drake Court in Waldorf. The boy and his friends walked out on to a concrete platform where the victim lost his balance and fell into the water. His friends ran to a nearby house and called for help. Charles County Sheriff’s officers, Fire and EMS personnel responded and began a search. A member of the Charles County Dive and Rescue Team located the child in the water several minutes later and life saving measures were initiated.
