On January 6, at approximately 3:30 p.m., officers were alerted to a stolen Chevrolet Camaro in the area of Route 5 and Crain Highway in Waldorf; the vehicle was reported stolen in a different jurisdiction. Officers initiated a traffic stop, but the driver fled and subsequently struck another car near Substation Road. The Camaro rolled over and landed on its roof, but the driver was able to escape and flee on foot. He was apprehended a short distance away without further incident. A loaded firearm, which was reported stolen in a different jurisdiction, was recovered. Further, a window punch tool, vehicle starter fuses, burglary tools, and cannabis were recovered. Khobe Manuel Prospere David, age 24, of Maryland, was arrested and charged with motor vehicle theft, weapon law violations, and traffic violations. He is currently being held at the Charles County Detention Center without bond.
