Detectives from the Charles County Sheriff’s Office have made an arrest in connection with a series of burglaries involving the theft of circuit breakers from newly constructed residences. Since August 29, 2025, detectives have been investigating multiple burglaries targeting homes in the final phase of construction throughout Charles County and across the region. During these incidents, the suspect stole circuit breakers from nearly 50 homes with an estimated value of $50,000. As a result of the investigation, detectives identified the suspect as Roger Geovanny Madrid-Banegas, 37, of Rockville. On January 8, 2026, detectives served a search warrant in Montgomery County with assistance from the Montgomery County Police Department and the Prince George’s County Police Department. Madrid-Banegas was arrested and charged with breaking and entering, theft, and destruction or property. He is currently being held at the Charles County Detention Center without bond.
