On May 8 at 7:13 p.m., a patrol officer initiated a traffic stop in the area of Smallwood Drive and Stone Avenue in Waldorf. During the traffic stop, the officer observed a firearm inside the car. The occupants of the car, Abraham Micah Evans, Jr., 20, of Greenbelt, and Eric Da’Shawn Talley, 20 of White Plains, were arrested and charged with transporting a loaded firearm in a vehicle, illegal possession of a firearm, and other related charges. On May 9, a district court commissioner released both Evans and Talley from the Charles County Detention Center on a $1,500 unsecured bond. Cpl. Morrison is investigating.
