On August 27, a student, age 15, at Henry E. Lackey High School was found to be in possession of several packaged vape devices containing THC. In an unrelated case on August 26, a 15-year-old student at Westlake High School was found to be in possession of a vape containing THC. Both students were issued a juvenile citation for possession of cannabis and are facing consequences in accordance with the Charles County Public Schools code of student conduct. Parents are urged to speak with their children about the dangers of vapes which may contain unknown substances that can be harmful and dangerous.
