The Charles County Sheriff’s Office provides fingerprinting services at its St. Charles Towne Center office.



The Fingerprinting Office is open by appointment ONLY beginning July 13. See below for details.

Location and Schedule

The Charles County Sheriff’s Office fingerprinting office, located inside the St. Charles Towne Center on the second floor beside Dick’s Sporting Goods, will reopen on Monday, July 13 by appointment ONLY. Appointment slots will begin at 11a.m., which is the mall’s opening time.

Anyone wishing to make an appointment for fingerprinting services may call 301-609-6438. Call takers are available Monday through Thursday from 8:30a.m. until 4:30p.m., and Friday from 8:30a.m. until 1:30p.m.

When you arrive for your appointment, you must wear a mask. You will be asked COVID screening questions, and an employee will check your temperature with a digital thermometer. In order to limit the number of people in the fingerprinting office, no one else may accompany someone to an appointment, unless the appointment is for a minor or for someone with special needs who requires assistance.

Services provided: The CCSO provides fingerprinting services for individuals who need state and federal backgrounds, state only backgrounds, and FBI ink card (Live Scan and Ink Rolled Prints).

Fees

Full background for state and federally authorized agencies: $55.00
State background check: $38.00
Ink rolled  and FD258 cards: $20.00 per card

Payment

The CCSO accepts cash, credit card, or money orders. Money orders should be made payable to “Charles County Sheriff’s Office”.

Other Requirements

  • A government-issued photo identification
  • Employer authorization number
