OFFICERS INVESTIGATE SINGLE VEHICLE CRASH: On April 1 at approximately 6:19 p.m., officers responded to the 5000 block of Bryantown Road in Waldorf for the report of a motor vehicle accident. The driver, a 22-year-old male from Waldorf, was flown to a hospital with serious injuries. A passenger who was not on the scene when officers arrived was later located at a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A preliminary investigation revealed that the driver of the sport utility vehicle lost control while travelling north on Bryantown Road. The vehicle left the roadway and struck several trees. The cause of the crash is under investigation. Cpl. W. Saunders of the Traffic Operations Unit is investigating.
 
PEDESTRIAN HIT-AND-RUN/CRIME SOLVERS OFFERING CASH REWARD: On April 1 at approximately 2:06 p.m., officers responded to the area of Smallwood Drive at Barrington Drive in Waldorf for the report of a pedestrian hit-and-run. Upon arrival, officers located the victim, a 72-year-old male from Waldorf, who was flown to a hospital with serious injuries. Witnesses stated that a gray or silver sport utility vehicle struck the man as he attempted to cross Smallwood Drive in his wheelchair. The striking vehicle was not located. Based on the manner of the collision, the silver or gray sport utility vehicle should have minor damage on the front passenger side. Charles County Crime Solvers is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the identity of the driver. Anyone with information is asked to contact Sgt.
