BURGLARY: On March 6 between 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., someone broke into a house in the 9400 block of Beaverdam Road in Nanjemoy and stole cash and jewelry. Officers discovered the suspect gained entry through an unsecured window. CPL. R. Cadrette is investigating.

MAN CHARGED IN CONNECTION WITH MOTOR VEHICLE THEFTS: On March 6 at 6:20 a.m., a witness called police to report he had just observed his car, which he reported stolen three weeks earlier, at a gas station in the 2000 block of Smallwood Drive in Waldorf. The witness confronted the driver who fled on foot. Officers arrived but were not able to locate the suspect. Det. D. Savoy investigated further and soon identified the suspect as James Steven Cunningham, 26, of Waldorf. Det. Savoy also linked Cunningham to another car theft that occurred in early February. An arrest warrant was obtained and officers went to Cunningham’s house to serve it. Cunningham was found hiding in his attic and was arrested without further incident. He was charged with two counts of motor vehicle theft.
