Teen Court Volunteers Wanted

Teen Court is seeking youth volunteers to serve as jurors and prosecution and defense attorneys. Volunteers earn community service hours, gain experience in the legal system, try real court cases, take part in free field trips and help their community. Teen Court Fundraiser: Dine to Donate at Pizza Hotline

Raising money for a good cause is easy as pie — pizza pie, that is! Pizza Hotline hosts monthly Dine to Donate fundraisers for the CCSO’s Teen Court program.

Traffic Fatality

On October 8 at 8:40 a.m., Sharon Marie Sams, 30, of La Plata, was driving a Buick Regal in the 9300 block of Parkway Subdivision Road in La Plata when her car suddenly left the roadway and struck a tree. Sams and her two children – a 6-year-old boy and a 5-year-old girl- were flown to area hospitals. Sams died a short time later as a result of her injuries. Her two children were admitted to…
