School Bus Crash

On Sept. 25 at 7:50 a.m., the driver of a Cadillac Escalade was traveling in the 2400 block of Davis Road in Waldorf when she struck a curb, lost control of her vehicle and struck a school bus head on. THEFT: Between Sept. 14 – Sept. 22, someone broke into an unlocked garage in the 9800 block of Johnsontown Road in La Plata and stole tools.

On Wednesday, Sept 25, the Charles County Sheriff’s Office will be assisting the family of Kenneth Bernard Proctor – who was tragically killed at the Washington Navy Yard last week – with traffic control during his funeral service.

Suspicious Activity Reported at Bus Stop

The Charles County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a report of suspicious activity that occurred about 8:40 a.m. on Sept. 18 at a school bus stop at the intersection of Normandie Woods Drive and Charles Street in La Plata. A man in a sport-utility vehicle stopped at the bus stop, lowered his passenger-side window and initiated a conversation with a 6-year-old boy who was alone at the stop.
